Overview

Research Programmes of this Division aim to understand the origin and evolution of the Solar System, physical and chemical processes occurring on the Earth surface reservoirs through analysis of isotopic, chemical and luminescence signatures. more . . .

Research Programmes

Pre-Solar and Early Solar system processes; Chemical and Isotopic studies on meteorites; Catastrophic events in Earth's history; Spatial and Temporal evolution of various landforms of India; Paleoclimate, Paleomonsoon and Desertification on various time scales; Chemical Weathering and Climate; Ocean Circulation and Gas Exchange; Aerosol Chemistry and Deposition; Trace gases in the atmosphere. Space based experiments; Planetary Exploration: Chandrayaan-1 and beyond.
