Leaders of the Congress, the Telugu Desam (TD), Praja Rajyam and Arya Vysya community on Tuesday paid rich tributes to Potti Sriramulu at his statue near city Congress office on the occasion of his 57th death anniversary.

They recalled the sacrifice made by Potti Srimulu for the formation of Andhra Pradesh. The MLC and DCC president, Mr Singam Basava Punniah, MLA Prattipati Pulla Rao, PR district leader Ligamsetty Eswara Rao, Guntur marketing yard vice-chairman Padachuri Venkateswaralu and others garlanded the statue of Potti Srimulu and paid homage to him.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Basava Punniah reminded the sacrifices made by Potti Srimulu.
